GPT Wrappers don't exist: Three conditions for a successful VC backed AI startup

Many people refer to certain application layer startups as "GPT Wrappers", but there's no such category. The reality is more binary: either an AI startup finds an explosive PMF or it disappears.
Three conditions for a "successful" VC backed AI startup today:
- Technical excellence - Master the models and understand how they work in depth (ML engineers, DL expertise, or strong intellectual lineage).
- Extreme Go-to-Market Talent - A unique distribution model / flawless sales execution / sales people who are entrepreneurs. Many very difficult requirements.
-  The moat is the UX - True product innovation that transforms user adoption is the key to success
Startups that combine these three elements achieve massive traction (e.g. ElevenLabs, Lovable).
Those that fail on just one of these points remain stuck in a desert of painful iterations with no Product-Market Fit.
